The genesis of this joke comes from a time I heard a DJ in Minnesota several years ago say something like "getting our one Prince song in as required by law" after playing, I think, "Kiss" which was old even then. The day I made this toonlet, I heard a Nirvana song (I currently live in Washington) and the idea came to mind. I probably could have said Pearl Jam instead. "Taylor Swift sings 'Jeremy' next on KWIQ Country'!" :p
I had the same question as haydens_angel81, LOL! I'd heard at one point that Canadian stations had to feature Canadian artists, but states? Hee. Maybe it's just the "unwritten law."
