Um, uh, um...

Did anybody catch the government's briefing on the swine flu in the US this morning? While it was filled with important information and stuff, I couldn't help but be amused by Secretary of Homeland Security, Janet Napolitano's portion. By my count, she said "um" about 16-18 times a minute. Swear to God. It was pretty hysterical. I think she was using "um" to indicate punctuation in her speech. Maybe.

There's a lady at work who has a similar problem, so I'll definitely share this tomorrow.

LATER: Okay, I found video of the briefing, (Napolitano's portion starts at about 7:30 minutes in) and I think I'll have to downgrade those numbers to about 15 uh's or um's per minute. The guy from the CDC is only a little better.
