Music to My Ears

I've argued it before; Today's broadcast radio plays the same songs too many damn times, but that may change (somewhat) soon. This article explains that the FCC is trying to get the major broadcast corporations to allow for more "independent" and locally-based music to be aired on the channels they own. What that means is that the your favorite hometown band which has yet to be signed to a label may actually be heard on your local radio station! You won't have to download their music from their MySpace page, either.

Heck, if this helps to keep songs like "What's Goin' On" and "The Middle" from playing 4 times in an eight hour period, or a Rob Thomas song (solo, with Matchbox 20, or with Santana) once an hour, then I'd call it a success!
